Music charts: Married Carrie moves closer to No. 1

On the same week Carrie Underwood gets married — yes, guys, she officially became Mrs. Mike Fisher at a resort in Georgia on Saturday — her song about relationships she’d rather “undo” moves closer to number one.

After being stuck at number six on the country singles chart three straight weeks, “Undo It” nudges up to number five this week. Between Carrie and her third number one hit off “Play On” are four guys — including Brad Paisley at number one with “Water.”

Carrie’s move toward the top is only one bit of good news for Idols on the Billboard chart this week. Here’s the rundown.

Bucky Covington: “A Father’s Love,” Bucky’s first hit single since his debut album, took a slight tumble on the county singles chart last week. This week, it bounces back to number 23, a two-spot advance.

Daughtry: “Leave This Town” continues to show staying power on the Billboard 200 album chart. This week, it’s back up to 108, from 111.

Fantasia: Speaking of former Idol champs closely in on a number one hit, “Bittersweet” has been steadily climbing the R&B/Soul chart for the season three winner. This week, it moves up another spot, to number 12.

Danny Gokey: One of the few retreats of the week — Danny’s “My Best Days” album drops out of the top 40 country albums after holding a spot there for 17 weeks.

Adam Lambert: His tour’s doing great, and his music’s not doing too badly either. “Whataya Want From Me” rebounds from number 47 to 45 on the Hot 100; “For Your Entertainment” moved from 109 to 100 on the Billboard 200. Most impressively, his new single, “If I Had You,” jumps nine spots, from 94 to 85, on the Hot 100.

Kimberley Locke: Hey, look who’s rocketing her way up the dance club chart. Kimberley’s “Strobelight” jumps five spots for the second straight week to land at number 15.

Kellie Pickler: And, hey, look who’s back on the country singles chart. Eleven weeks after its release, “Making Me Fall In Love Again” moves up three spots to crack the top 30.

Carrie Underwood: The newlywed also owns the hottest single among Idols, with “Undo It” moving from 30 to 27 on the Hot 100. “Play On” holds tight at number five on the country album chart, but slips from 27 to 30 on the Billboard 200.
