Only Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” topped Fantasia’s “Back to Me” in the charts posted this morning.

Two other debuts — “Versus” by Usher and “The Reason Why” by Little Big Town — entered the charts at number four and five, respectively.

Fantasia is about to release her second single from the album, “I’m Doin’ Me.” She’ll reportedly perform the song on the BET music video show “106 & Park” on Sept. 8 and against on “Live! With Regis & Kelly” the following day.

“Bittersweet,” the first single off the new album, holds steady at number seven on the Hip-Hop/R&B chart and jumps from 82 to 74 on the Hot 100 singles chart this week.

Elsewhere on the music charts:

Kris Allen: “Live Like We’re Dying” looks like it will never die on the adult contemporary chart. Long gone from the Hot 100, it’s number 10 among adult contemporary singles for the second straight week.

Kelly Clarkson: Speaking of hanging around: “Already Gone” isn’t … gone that is. The third single off Kelly’s 2009 album is number eight on the adult contemporary chart, the same position it held last week.

Daughtry: Chris and the guys have the number six single on the same chart as “Life After You” moves up one notch from a week ago. The band’s third single off the “Leave This Town” album is creeping up the Hot 100. It reaches number 75 this week, up five spots, in its fourth week. “Leave This Town” is 92 on the Billboard 200, down from 78.

Adam Lambert: “If I Had You” had been making a steady advance on the Hot 100, jumping from 54 to 32 in two weeks. This week, the song remains at number 32. Adam’s album is 90 on the Billboard 200, down from 84. “Whataya Want from Me” is number nine for the second straight week on the adult contemporary chart.

Carrie Underwood: “Play On” drops two spots to number 10 on the country album chart and 13 spots to number 62 on the Billboard 200. Carrie’s “Undo It” single is 61 on the Hot 100, down five spots.

The final nominees for County Music Association awards were announced this morning.

Not surprisingly, season four American Idol Carrie Underwood landed a couple of nods.

Somewhat surprisingly, she is not among the nominees for Entertainer of the Year, despite releasing a highly successful third album in December.

“Play On” has been nominated as album of the year, along with “Revolution” by Miranda Lambert, “Need You Now” by Lady Antebellum, “Up On the Ridge” by Dierks Bentley and “Twang” by George Strait.

Carrie is also nominated as female vocalist of the year, alongside Taylor Swift, Martina McBride, Reba McIntire and Lambert.

But for Entertainer of the Year, the nominations went to Brad Paisley, the Zac Brown Band, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum and Lambert.

Miranda leads the pack with nine nominations; Lady Antebellum — due to play the York Fair Grandstand on opening night — received six.

Carrie and Brad Paisley will co-host the awards show, to be televised on ABC on Nov. 10.

FM 97 is throwing a Birthday Barn Dance Friday, Sept. 24, at the Pullo Center at Penn State York.

The best part of that news for American Idol fans is that WLAN is bringing David Archuleta to town for the event.

The season seven Idol runner-up is one of five acts scheduled to perform during the 7 p.m. event, along with Shontelle, The Ready Set, Hot Chelle Rae and Runner Runner.

The appearance comes just days before the release of David’s new album, “The Other Side of Down,” and follows the release of his new single, “Something About Love.”

Tickets are just $18 to $25 — hey, that’s a fraction of what it will cost you to see Foreigner (with one original member) play the same venue in October — and are on sale now.

Apparently, you can also listen to the station’s Morning Rush all week for a chance to win tickets.

For David fans, the timing couldn’t be better.

As of this writing, “The Other Side of Down” is 34 days and 10 hours away; there’s a countdown on David’s website if you’re interested in the count by minutes and second, or want to learn more about the upcoming album.

Carrie Underwood might be a co-host at the County Music Awards on Nov. 10, but she wasn’t even mentioned when the first round of nominees were announced this morning.

Instead, the CMA darlings appear to be former Nashville Star contestant Miranda Lambert and York-Fair-bound Lady Antebellum.

Two Lambert songs — “White Liar” and “The House that Built Me” — have been nominated in three categories — single of the year, song of the year and video of the year.

Lady Antebellum, which will play the Grandstand on the opening night of the York Fair, is nominated as vocal group of the year and their mega hit, “Need You Now,” is also nominated as single of the year, song of the year and video of the year.

Nominations in the final five categories will be announced Wednesday morning when Miranda and Dirks Bentley appear on Good Morning America.

But two Idol tunes made big jumps this week.

Adam Lambert’s latest single, “If I Had You,” scored a double-digit advance for the second straight week, moving up from 42 to 32 on the Hot 100.

My guess is, it could wind up being his biggest hit yet. And if you haven’t checked out the video, make sure to do so. It features a cameo by fellow season eight Idol contestant Allison Iraheta.

Meanwhile, Daughtry’s latest single, “September” was another of the big gainers on the Hot 100 this week. It moved up from 91 to 80 in its third week on the chart.

Fantasia: With her new album out this week, Fantasia’s first single off it hit a new peek of number seven on the Hip-Hop/R&B chart. The song is 82 on the Hot 100, down three spots from last week.

Adam Lambert: The season eight runner-up’s debut album is 84 on the Billboard 200, down from 77. His second single off it, “Whataya Want From Me,” is nine on the adult contemporary chart, up one spot.

Carrie Underwood: The just-announced hot of the 2010 County Music Awards sees her “Play On” album slip one spot on both major charts, to number eight among country albums and number 49 on the Billboard 200. “Undo It,” the album’s third single, is 56 on the Hot 100, down from 45.

The awards show is set for Wednesday, Nov. 10, in Nashville and will air live from 8 to 10 p.m. on ABC.

Last year, it seemed as though Carrie changed outfits every time she appeared on stage. In fact, she changed outfits more than 10 times.

That’s unlikely to happen this year, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t keep an eye on what the ever-stylish Carrie is wearing.

“I can’t change anymore than I did last year,” Carrie told the Associated Press in a story that moved earlier today. “I don’t think that’s a physical possibility, so I’m not going to try to outdo the costumes.”

Taylor Swift, coming off the release of her mega-popular “Fearless” album, was the big winner last year with four CMA awards, including Entertainer of the Year.

Carrie, of course, is currently riding the success of her third album, “Play On,” which has already yielded three number one country singles.

We’ll find out whether she’s nominated for CMA awards next week.

Justin Moore and Chris Young will announce finalists in seven CMA categories on Tuesday from Nashville; Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley will announce the others during a half-hour segment of “Good Morning America” at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

A former Idol contestant will appear at this year’s York Fair after all.

The fair has a rich history of bringing Idol contestants to the event. Clay Aiken, Carrie Underwood, David Cook and Kelly Clarkson have all graced the Grandstand.

This year’s Grandstand lineup doesn’t include an Idol connection.

But Scott Donato, programming director of WGTY, tells us that season two contestant Josh Gracin will do a free acoustic show 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at the fair’s Faire Vue Cafe, next to the banquet center.

You might remember Josh as the former Marine who finished fourth that year, behind Clay, Ruben Studdard and Kimberley Locke.

He went on to release a highly successful self-titled debut album in 2004 and a less successful followup (”We Weren’t Crazy”) in 2008.

He’s currently working on a new album and has a new single out, “Cover Girl,” that is streaming on his website. You can also download a free fan appreciation EP there.

Months have passed since anyone other than Carrie Underwood has topped Idols on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

But she’s been supplanted.

While Carrie’s “Undo It” fell from 36 to 45 on the Hot 100 last week, Adam Lambert’s latest single was surging.

“If I Had You” leaped eight spots on the Hot 100, moving from number 54 to number 42. Just three weeks ago, the tune was stuck at number 69.

Here’s a look at how other Idols are doing on the Billboard charts:

Kris Allen: “Live Like We’re Dying” moved up one spot on the Idol-friendly adult contemporary singles chart, from 10 to nine.

Kelly Clarkson:  The original Idol’s “Already Gone” is still hanging in the top 10 on the same chart, though it slips from seven to eight.

Chris Daughtry: “September,” the band’s new single, moves from 94 to 91 on the Hot 100. Its predecessor, “Life After You,” holds steady at number seven on the adult contemporary chart. Meanwhile, “Leave This Town” drops from 84 to 92 on the Billboard 200 album chart.

Fantasia: Her new album came out Tuesday, and the first single from it has surged, reaching new peek positions on the Hot 100 (79, up from 90) and the Hip-Hop/R&B singles chart (eight, up from 10).

Adam Lambert: Adam makes a fourth Idol with a song in the top 10 on the adult contemporary chart. “Whataya Want From Me” is number 10, down a spot from a week ago. Adam’s “For Your Entertainment” album is number 77, a one-spot slide on the Billboard 200.

Kimberley Locke: “Strobelight” peaked at number five on the dance/club play chart two weeks ago. It has now fallen to 16.

Carrie Underwood:  “Undo It” is number 10 on the country singles chart, down from six a week ago. “Play On” ranks seven among country albums, down two spots, and 48 on the Billboard 200, down 10 spots. But that’s still a high among Idols.

She says she swallowed a bottle of aspirin earlier this month not so much in reaction to being named in a legal filing by a woman who accused her of breaking up her marriage, but as a result of six years of stress and drama.

Editor’s note to Fantasia: People who do not like drama should not star in a reality show on VH1.

The publicity, of course, is timed to coincide with today’s release of Fantasia’s third studio album, “Back to Me.”

Fantasia has already scored a modest hit with her first single from the album. “Bittersweet” was number eight on the Billboard Hip-Hop/R&B last week; the song jumped from 90 to 79 last week on Billboard’s Hot 100.

Among country albums, “Play On” is number five for the fourth straight week. Among country singles, “Undo It” drops from number four to number six. Three weeks ago, it was number one on the singles chart.
